Daily Moment of Zen
Bulls make money, bears make money, pigs get slaughtered.
Why It Matters:
This is Wall Street’s most efficient risk-management manual — and it fits today’s tape uncomfortably well.
Bulls get paid when they follow the trend and respect momentum. Bears get paid when they wait for confirmation, time the turn, and press weakness. Both sides win because both sides have discipline. Pigs, on the other hand, blow up because they confuse conviction with entitlement.
In markets like this — S&P sniffing 7,000, Mag 7 earnings on deck, gold going vertical, and Powell about to freestyle — the temptation to overstay, oversize, or “just squeeze one more point” is exactly how solid gains turn into dumb losses. The pig doesn’t get slaughtered for being wrong… it gets slaughtered for refusing to stop trading when it’s right.
The takeaway for traders:
Have a thesis, pick a side, take the money, and move on. If you find yourself arguing with price, doubling down out of emotion, or turning a trade into a belief system — congratulations, you’re no longer a bull or a bear. You’re bacon.
And the market is always hungry.
