Daily Moment of Zen
The good traders are the ones who can hold their ground the majority of the month and participate in that small handful of trades that are windfalls.
Why It Matters:
This is a polite way of saying the thing most traders hate to admit: you don’t get paid every day. Most days are just you vs. the market in a staring contest, trying not to do anything stupid. The pros understand the job description: protect capital, stay emotionally neutral, and wait for the market to finally let its guard down so you can hit it with something more elegant than a drunk haymaker.
Every month has maybe two to five trades that matter — the ones that actually move the P/L needle. Everyone wants to be a hero on every trade, but real traders know it’s more like be boring, be patient, and then be aggressive for 15 minutes when the stars finally align. Windfalls don’t come from constant action; they come from selective action.
In short: good traders survive the grind so they can capitalize on the gift. The amateurs chase every candle. The pros wait for the ones that pay the bills.
